Sarai Booking

There are five Niwas, which provide Lodging facilities for pilgrims maintained by the Golden Temple authorities.
Sarai Shri Guru Ramdas also called Shri Guru Ram Das Sarai was built in 1931. The Local Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee of Amritsar initiated the project, and Sant Sadhu Singh of Patiala laid its foundation 17th
January 1931. The Sarai (hostel) now has 228 rooms and 18 halls spread over 2 stories, with modern sanitation and
other amenities of civil life. The reception room remains open round the clock to attend to visitors. Recently three
new mansions Shri Guru Har Gobind Niwas, Shri Guru Arjun Niwas and the Akal Rest House have been added to meet the
needs of pilgrims who can afford to pay for their accommodation. Besides, another free hostel Shri Guru Nanak Niwas
has been added to accommodate the ever-increasing number of pilgrims to the Gurdwara. These new rest houses stand
next door to Teja Singh Samundri Hall. SGPC offers online booking for accommodation to these places to facilitate your
visit to the Gurdwara. The accommodation facilities at the Gurdwara are as under:
