Happy New Year |

One of the fundamental practises in Sikh culture is the initiation of all important or significant events and tasks with the invocation of WaheGuru through taking the Hukamnama from the Guru Granth Sahib. Unfortunately, Sikhs today seem to think that seeking the Guru's blessings do not really matter. On New Year's eve, Sikh Youth are foremost in celebrating it by frequenting Nightclubs and Discos, drinking wine and cavorting around women whereas Gurudwaras are generally found empty. How indeed can we expect our Guru to be with us in all our sorrows and difficulties when we tend to forget him on significant events? |
