HORSE CONTROVERSY
SGPC has become famous for creating controversies rather than doing its prime duty of managing Gurdwaras or spreading religious awareness amongst common people.
Sikhs in Haryana got agitated as SGPC used to collect the donations from Gurdwaras in Haryana but hardly any development was done in that state. Haryana Sikhs felt deprived and during last elections threw their weight to support Congress with a promise from them that the Congress government will help to form an independent Haryana Gurdwara Parbhandak committee. The time ran out and Haryana Sikhs are trying to move forward as the process got delayed/stalled by Chatha committee formed by Haryana government.
Haryana Sikhs wanted to carry out a yatra from Sirsa to Nadha Saheb Gurdwara covering a route with in Haryana state to highlight their just demands. For that purpose they allegedly brought a Horse, which they claim is from the breed of horse kept by Guru Gobind singh Ji. Along with they collected some arms belonging to the Tenth Guru for display on the route. SGPC saw red and stated that the Horse was purchased from some trader and is not a horse from the breed of that horse owned by Guru Gobind singh ji. Haryana Sikhs challenged the statement of SGPC and reacted to prove otherwise. Akal Takhat at the instance of SGPC it seems has summoned S. Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Head of adhok Parbandhak committee Haryana, to Akal Takhat to explain. The friction is likely to increase in future it seems.
But the crux of the problem lies somewhere else. That is the money in GOLAK (donations by the Sangat), which were being collected by the SGPC. In case the Haryana Gurdwara Committee comes in to being SGPC will lose a big chunk of income. No wonder the Maya has influenced the minds of clergy as usually it does with a common man.
On the other hand the common man looking at the horse bows and with faith unlimited in their hearts take away the horse dung as PARSAD to their homes. No doubt it is said that common sense is not common.
