- THREE MELBOURNE PERFORMANCES
Acclaimed Australia-Sikh world music group, Dya Singh presents three special performances in Melbourne during the June Long weekend. Acclaimed as one of the world's leading Sikh devotional singers Dya Singh has performed his unique brand of Sufi-Sikh music around the world with performances at London's Royal Albert Hall, The Smithsonion Institute in Washington, the California World Music Festival, the Sydney Festival and recently for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival. His music is described as 'food for the soul' and blends North Indian music with the global sounds of the planet to create a mesmerizing musical experience that truly touches the heart.

The group is regarded as an 'icon of multicultural Australia' bringing together musicians and singers of diverse backgrounds and experiences. They have released 15 CDs since they began in 1992 and toured overseas to UK, Canada, USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Kenya & Japan. The Melbourne performances will feature Dya Singh main vocals & harmonium, his three daughters Harsel, Parvyn & Jamel Singh on vocals, Dheeraj Shrestha - the scintillating Tabla player originally from Nepal, Andrew Clermont one of Australia's foremost country and bluegrass musicians on violin, didgeridoo & mandolin and Keith Preston on santoor, bouzouki and Irish drum. Truly a global sound.
