The Dya Singh group offers a range of performances and contributions to festivals and community celebrations: |

|
1. Mainstream Public Concerts/Performances at Festivals Concert performances in festivals, concert halls and public performance situations. Dya Singh group has performed in major arts festivals, music festivals, folk & world music festivals, multicultural events, multi-faith events, yoga centres, Indian cultural festivals, government events, embassies, fundraising events and so on. In these situations the group tailors their musical material to suit the situation. The group can present one bracket of music or present a full afternoon or evening concert of up to two and a helf hours of music and songs. In these situations the group presents material that can include Sikh devotional songs, Punjabi folk songs, Sufi qawwallis, Hindu bhajans,Raag based songs, meditational musical items, showpiece instruments, new compositions and in some situations dance items. 2. Devotional Concerts The group can present concerts with a special theme and focus on presenting Sikh world music or a presentation that is more generalized but still of a devotional nature. |

3. Sikh Music Concerts The group also presents two kinds of concerts for the Sikh community. a) Concerts that are primarily FOR the Sikh community and that might be for a special occasion or celebration or perhaps with a fundraising focus. b) Concerts run by the Sikh community but where non-Sikhs arespecifically invited, welcome and encouraged to attend. In this case there is a showcase (of Sikh music & culture) aspect to the concert. |

4. .Gurdwara (Sikh Temple)Programs The Dya Singh group has extensive experience in presenting programsof kirtan and shabads (Sikh hymns) in Sikh gurdwaras around the world. The group can present standard programs of kirtan through to specialist events such as Sikh Weddings, Asa De War (early morning devotion)Nitnem (Morning and evening prayers) The group also specializes in community/public programs in Sikh gurdwaras that are focused on youth and events where non-Sikhs are welcomed & present. |

5. Private House programs The Dya Singh presents private programs of kirtan in houses or for individual families. The details of the program can be arranged to individually sit the occasion. |

6. Workshops The Dya Singh musicgroup offers many workshops at Festivals and mainstream public events: These are aimed at non-Sikhs and include: Introduction to Sikh music & beliefs Music and meditation How we develop our group's music, ie Indian raags & improvisation, fusion with western music North Indian rhythms Instrumental workshops ie: tabla, violin, didgeridoo, bouzouki Folk & Bhangra dance Plus other workshops as requested Sikh Youth Camps Dya Singh and his daughters have a wide range of experience in running workshops at Sikh Youth Camps in Malaysia, UK and in Australi. Dya has been extensively involved in creating and developing Youth Camp curriculum for Sikh youth as well as presenting music , singing and cultural programs. |

7.Motivational talks with music Dya Singh has extensive experience in presenting 'motivational'talks that can also involve music presentation/performance. These are primarily aimed at Sikh youth but can also be in a more workshop format ie; for conferences, or seminars that involve non-Sikhs. |

9.Commissions The Dya Singh group takes on special commissions for specific events and composes new pieces for festivals or events. For example the group has recently composed new material linking Gurmukhi/English for performances at the 400th anniversary celebration of the compilation of GGS at Royal Albert Hall and English songs for Tsunami Benefit concert in UK |

The Dya Singh Music Group wishes to present itself on stage and in performance at the best possible level of professionalism. We seek to recreate the quality of sound that is in our CDs as well as creating the best possible sound experience for our listeners in the live situation. Being mindful of budget limitations we have listed below an outline of BASIC sound requirements for various events. The following are requirements for our five person group. Please check size of group that is actually touring. We will provide a detailed sound stage plan if required for your specific event. We can also advise and liaise re sound system if you do not have these skills or expertise. |

A) FULL CONCERT OR FESTIVAL SETTING Five Person Group: Minimum Requirements Experienced Sound Operator mixing from Auditorium/Hall Raised rostrum/Stage Seating area for 5 persons 1 x Sound mixing Desk with min of 12 channels of inputs with reverb and graphic equalization. Min of 2 sends Quality Front of house speakers with amplifier , equalization and effects (The size of these should be suited to the size of the performance venue) 3 x stage monitor speakers 9 x microphones and stands 4 vocal & 2 instrument & 3 percussion/tabla (short microphone stands if possible) 3 x DI (direct input boxes) for plug in instruments |
