Dear Mohinderjit:

Sut Siri Akal (a universal Sikh greeting: Lord's Truth is Eternal).

Please accept congratulations from your many friends in Sikh American and Asian American community in Indiana on being awarded the "Pan Asian American Ping Tom Memorial Award" at the annual Asian American Coalition of Chicago's 24th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration on March 3, 2007. This is great news for all of us to know that the work, dedication, and service of one of our own is being recognized by the Asian American Coalition in the Chicagoland at this glittering gala. We thank you and celebrate your success.

We cannot be with you to witness this landmark moment for you and your family but we are with you in spirit with our excitement and joy over your personal achievement and the many successes of the Asian American community to create a place for itself and for its vision to mainstream the talents, energy, and investment of the new immigrant Asian communities in many profound and significant ways guided by talented leaders and the network of support. We are proud of your commitment to this lofty vision and for leading the Sikh Americans, and being an example for other, to step forward and be partners for the cause of One America with its many faces, cultural textures, ideals and dreams.

Please extend our congratulations to Mrs. Saini, your children, the Sikh American community and your legions of admirers and friends in the USA and beyond.

I am proud to let you know that I am sharing this communication and the accompanying article/press release with the leadership of the Sikh American community, Asian American community, and with some influential and enlightened leaders that are engaged in organizing a conference in Indianapolis to highlight the growing and diverse multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-faith immigrant communities in the Hoosier State. Ms. Juana Watson, Senior Liaison in the Office of the Governor of the State of Indiana is the principal organizer and coordinator of this Initiative. I believe there are many ideas in the attached document that may be of interest to us as we look towards this conference in late 2007 or early 2008. I wish some of us were able to attend this colorful evening and get some helpful ideas for our efforts here.

With regards and best wishes for your continued success and service to the nation.
