The universe is believed to have originated somewhere about 10-20 billion years ago. A tremendous
explosion started the expansion of the universe. This explosion is known as the Big Bang. Initially,
the universe contained only hydrogen and a small amount of helium. There were no heavenly bodies like
stars and planets. The first stars probably began to form out of hydrogen when the universe was about
100 million years old.
Many stars got created before our Sun was formed, many others are still in evolutionary stages. This
process continues, and many such evolving stars have became an area of interest for space watchers.
