CONSTRUCTION OF FORTS

Guru Gobind Singh left Anandpur Sahib in October 1684 for duration of three years
during which he laid the foundation of Paunta Sahib. He returned back to
Anandpur Sahib on October 1687. During this period the city became very
much isolated and there were no activities. Coming back of the master
once again converted the place into the hub of activities. Lot of
construction work was done during this period. Guru realized to
the fact that later on this place would be the field for various
battles to be fought. He built the forts of
"Holgarh", and "Lohgarh" near the banks of river Satluj.
Fatehgarh was built on river Charanganga, at a certain
distance KeshGarh, and at the highest place Fort Anandgarh was
established. Already established Arms factory of making weapons
started working at a faster pace. Forts were built in such a
way as to prevent the enemy from reaching the city.
